TWCD's partnerships with youth ensembles provide performance, growth, and educational opportunities, such as lobby and onstage performances by local children's choirs. All participating ensembles receive a clinic and workshop with the Artistic Director.
At each concert, TWCD reserves tickets for clients of social service agencies that we partner with, free of charge, making live music accessible to underserved members of the community.
TWCD brings the joy of live music to less-mobile community members through onsite outreach performances during the holiday season, with tailored song selections for each agency's demographic.
"The music will always be that invisible therapeutic assistance, the one that will help families affected by domestic violence to heal the wounds through each of their voices and instruments. Thank you for sharing your talent for those who suffer the most, and for being part of their healing process.”
Isabel Camacho,
Director of Residential Services
New Beginning Center | July 2014
"Mother's Day and Christmas are often such challenging times for our ladies in treatment and instead of focusing on their guilt, shame, and sadness--they instead are able to spend time celebrating the day with each other and their children and their role as newly sober women through the music of the chorus."
Beth Hunter,
Executive Coordinator
Nexus Recovery Center | Dec 2017
"Our multi-year partnership with TWCD allows both organizations to reach out to new members and to people who may not have visited a public garden or listened to live music. The Mother's Day concert each year brings entire families out to the Gardens, and we receive positive responses all day long."
Sarah Gardner,
Director of Communications
Texas Discovery Gardens | Dec 2017
